Audiences were transported back to the heyday of disco at Gorey Little Theatre recently as the energetic students from Gorey Community School presented a week-long run of the musical 'Disco Inferno.'
The stage was full of dazzling colour and funky dance moves, as the massive cast presented 70's favourites such as 'Spirit in the Sky', 'Boogie Wonderland' and 'I will Survive'.
The acclaimed musical featured the story of a young man who made a Faustian pact with the devil who soon learned that fame and fortune did not bring all that he dreamed of.
School principal Michael Finn was delighted with the show, explaining that the cast was selected in April and May, and rehearsals continued all summer. "The music was just brilliant. We're very lucky to have such a wealth of talent in the school," he said, paying tribute to everyone, including director Clodagh Cecil, musical director Roisin Dempsey, and choreographer Megan McEvoy.
