In Glandoran on Saturday 22nd March.Ten students competed as follows:
Ciaran Fleming - came 2nd in Senior Singles. Shannon Byrne - competed in Senior Singles. Orla Allen and Doireann Ryan had a Clear in Junior Pairs. Rebecca Steacy and Lucia Merrigan competed in Junior Pairs. Christian Roche came 3rd in Junior Individuals. Ben O' Connor competed in Junior Individuals. Michael Dunne competed in Junior Individuals. Christian Roche and Michael Dunne competed in Junior Pairs. Well done to all who represented our school proudly.
Our equestrian club has been very busy and enjoyed many successes this year. Our showjumping team of Doireann Ryan, Orla Allen, Elma and James Butler have got into the jump off in almost every competition they have competed in this year so far. They came 3rd place in Broadmeadows on Sat 8th December and repeated the performance in the same venue on 13th January. In Boswell on 23rd February they had an impressive 2nd place. In the Interschools Hunter Trials held in Glandoran on Sat 2nd March our club were in the ribbons several times. Orla Allen won the Junior Individuals. Doireann Ryan and Elma Butler came 4th in the junior pairs class and third year student Ciaran Fleming was placed 5th in the Senior Individuals. Our school will host a leg of the national interschools league in Barnadown on Sunday 24th March. All students and staff are welcome to attend. Help is greatly needed and appreciated on the day.
Congratulations to our four teams who competed successfully in Wexford Equestrian on Sunday 15th September.

Green Team: Rebecca Steacy, Louise Dixon, Shannon Byrne,
Novice teams: White Team: Lauren Dench, Sarah Brohan, Amy Butler. 4th Place
Black Team: Christian Roche, Ben O Connor, Michael Dunne, Lucia Merrigan - 3rd Place.

Congratulations to April Haxby, Michelle Hughes, Ava Pierce and Emma Carton who came 4th in the Novice Teams Interschools Showjumping Competition in Barnadown on Saturday 17th October 15.

Congratulations to our equestrian club members who brought home the ribbons in the All Ireland Interschools Showjumping in Enniscorthy on Saturday 30th April. Jade Cody 2nd, Ryan McDonald 3rd and Sarah Dunne 4th in the Novice Individual.
Well done also to Doireann Ryan, Rebecca Steacy, Lucia Merrigan and Michelle Hughes who qualified for the Championships in Millstreet.

Gorey Community School Equestrian all Ireland Champions
Congratulations to our showjumping team of Rebecca Steacy, Doireann Ryan, Orla Allen and Lucia Merrigan who won the All Ireland Championship in Enniscorthy on Sat 2nd May . They won a €1500 training bursary and €500 They have qualified for Millstreet on 16th August. We also had success in the individual novice championship. Rebecca Steacy took first place, winning a €500 training bursary. Orla Allen came 2nd and Lucia Merrigan secured 5th place. Well done also to Sarah Dunne, Ryan McDonald, Cameron Reynolds and Emma O Hagan who jumped very well on the day
Gorey Community School Equestrian club was established in 2000. It has since been an active club with members participating in interschool show jumping and hunter trial competitions nationwide.
Students have competed in the many legs of the Hoofprints League which take place at weekends over the school year, throughout the country. They have enjoyed success in the national league on many occasions.
Gorey Community School is proud to be the host of the Hoofprints League Final which is held in conjunction with Barnadown Equestrian Centre. This year’s final takes place on the 27th March.
Our club has represented the school and been successful abroad in the Hickstead Show jumping competition in England on several occasions.
Membership is open to all ages of students from 1st to 6th year.
Show jumping training takes place every Tuesday evenings in Walsh’s indoor arena in Ballycanew.
Cross country and dressage instruction are also organised.
