Gorey Community School is a proud supporter of The Great Irish Bake for Temple Street University Hospital, supported by celebrity chef Donal Skehan, an important campaign to raise funds for this very special hospital.
Ms Meehan’s and Ms Browne’s TY students registered online, in order to participate and marketed the event beforehand by placing Great Irish Bake Posters around the school.
They whipped up delicious recipes and baked tasty treats, chocolate tray bakes and cup cakes for a bake sale at their school. The event proved to be very popular as students were enticed by beautifully presented cakes and slices.
Simultaneously a bake sale took place in the staff room.  The TY students enjoyed the fun and the buzz of selling to eager customers who obviously craved the sweet creations.  They also achieved a great sense of satisfaction in raising 560 euro for this very worthy cause.
